🌳 VIRGINIA WILL BE CLEAN! Comrades of ACP VA came together in Norfolk and Richmond to clean and maintain the public spaces of our great state. These areas are too often neglected by state and local governments that instead waste resources on “public/private partnership” scams.
May 19, 1920. Matewan, West Virginia. Three years after the Bolsheviks took power in Russia, coal miners in southern West Virginia entered a violent labor conflict of their own. The Stone Mountain Coal Company sent Baldwin-Felts agents to evict union miners from company housing.
Members of the local Soviet diaspora and the American Communist Party gathered on May 10th to commemorate Victory Day and honor the generations who fought against fascism in the Great Patriotic War.
On May 1, VA and MD chapters of the ACP set up a table at the AFL-CIO House of Labor in DC. We offered communist books and pamphlets and engaged with the crowd who had gathered for the concert marking International Workers' Day.
Yesterday in our nation’s capital, veterans protesting the illegal war in Iran were arrested. These Americans know first-hand that these wars ruin lives and only benefit banks and weapons manufacturers. ACP VA salutes them and joins them in saying: NO WAR IN IRAN!
